What is Dinner Church?
A holistic, neighbourhood based expression of church that dispels isolation, reconnects neighbours, and subverts the status quo, all around the dinner table.
Dinner Church includes ritual, food, community, worship, and prayer. It highlights some of the Anglican Tradition but does so in a new way that aims to be accessible to all. Anyone can attend (from those who are sceptical of church at all to those who attend a church every Sunday). All are welcome! Please email michaelgarner[at]gmail.com if you have any questions
Dinner Church @ Julian
October 18 ~ We discussed what Dinner Church is and what it looks like in other communities
November 8 ~ We will experiment with a Dinner Church structure from another community and see how it feels for the community gathered
November 22 ~ We will debrief and modify the Dinner Church experiment held on November 8th and create a structure that we think will work best at Julian. Together we will also plan our first Dinner Church and set out to invite others in the surrounding community!
Each of the above evenings begin at 6 p.m… and include dinner of course!

A little Background: The dinner church movement is a subgroup of the Christian food movement, which is a broader movement seeking to answer the questions:
- How can we re-imagine food systems in a way that more clearly reflects God’s reign?
- Where are the Christians working for a better food system, and how can I join them?
- Are there existing Christian food projects that I could replicate or adapt in my context?
