Pastoral Care & Prayer

“Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” (John 13:34)
We believe that following Jesus means caring for one another with love, compassion, and respect.
Pastoral Care is a ministry of presence, based on faith and prayer, to provide support and love to anyone in need. The role of those involved in Pastoral Care is to be present and available to support people in times of sickness or joy, in sorrow or celebration, in crisis or transition.
A parish Pastoral Care team, led by the clergy and with specialized training, is dedicated to this ministry and is available to listen, to pray, to share, and to be a friend. The team responds to Christ’s call to minister not only to members of the parish, but also to our neighbours:
Visiting parishioners who cannot leave the home, as well as those facing challenges and needing support
Visiting residents and helping with a monthly service of the holy eucharist at local retirement and long-term care communities
Visiting parishioners at hospitals and other facilities
If you feel any situation or person could be helped by the Pastoral Care Team, please contact the clergy or the Church Office at 613-224-7178.

“My house shall be called a house of prayer.” (Matthew 21:13)
Prayer is at the heart of our life together, shaping how we listen for God and bring the whole of our lives before God.
Our community has a group of parishioners who respond to requests for prayer on an ongoing basis, all while maintaining confidentiality. In addition, a prayer group meets weekly for 30 minutes on Zoom (Tuesdays at 4:30pm) to pray for particular situations and for the world that God loves.
If you would like to request specific prayers, please contact Marg Dumbrille via Email or 613-225-0806.
In addition, if you come to Sunday services, there is a prayer request sheet as you enter the nave where you can add the names of people who have asked for prayers. These intercessions are included in our services’ Prayers of the People.
